From A Distance

September 22nd, 2007 by arimas

From a distance
The world looks blue and green
And the snow capped mountains white
From a distance
The ocean meets the stream
And the eagle takes to flight

From a distance
There is harmony
And it echoes through the land
Its the voice of hope
Its the voice of peace
Its the voice of every man

From a distance
We all have enough
And no one is in need
And there are no guns,
no bombs and no disease
No hungry mouths to feed

From a Distance
We are instruments
Marching in a common band
Playing songs of hope
Playing songs of peace

They’re the songs of every man

God is watching us
God is watching us
God is watching us
From a distance

From a distance
You look like my friend
Even though we are at war
From a distance
I just cannot comprehend
What all this fighting is for

From a distance
There is harmony
And it echoes through the land
And its the hope of hopes
Its the love of loves
Its the heart of every man

Its the hope of hopes
Its the love of loves
This is the heart of every man

God is watching us
God is watching us
God is watching us
From a distance

God is watching us
God is watching
God is watching us
From a distance

I Know Who Holds My Hands

September 21st, 2007 by arimas

I don’t know about tomorrow

I just live from day to day

And I don’t borrow from the sunshine

‘Cause the skies might turn to grey

And I don’t worry about the future

‘Cause I know what Jesus said

And today I’m gonna walk right beside him

‘Cause he’s the one who knows what is ahead

There are things about tomorrow

That I don’t seem to understand

But I know who holds tomorrow

And I know who holds my hand

And each step is getting brighter as the golden stairs I climb

And every burden is getting lighter

And all the clouds their silver line

And, I’ll bet the sun it’s always shining

And no tears will ever dim the eye

And the ending of the rainbow

Where the mountains, they touch the sky

There are many things about tomorrow

I don’t seem to understand

But I know who holds tomorrow

And I know who holds my hand

Yes I know who holds my hand

Why Me, Lord?

September 21st, 2007 by arimas

Why me Lord… What have I ever done to deserve even one of the pleasures I’ve known

Tell me Lord… What did I ever do that was worth loving You for the kindness You’ve shown

Lord, help me Jesus… I’ve wasted it. So, Help me Jesus. I know what I am. But now that I know that I’ve needed You, so help me Jesus… My soul is in Your hands

Try me Lord… If you think there’s a way I can try to repay all I’ve taken from You

Maybe Lord, I can show someone else what I’ve been through myself on my way back to You

Lord, help me Jesus… I’ve wasted it. So, help me Jesus. I know what I am. But now that I know that I’ve needed You. So, Help me Jesus… My soul is in Your hands

Jesus, my soul is in Your hands…

There For Me

September 15th, 2007 by arimas

Sang by Sarah Brightman & Josh Groban

Sarah:
There for me, every time I’ve been away
Will you be there for me, thinking of me everyday
Are you my destiny, words I never dared to say
Will you be there for me?
Just think of you and me, we could never tow the line
It’s such a mystery just to hear you say you’re mine
And while you’re close to me, so close to me
Just hold me

Josh:
When you’re feeling cold and all the city streets are grey
Walking all alone and watching how the children play
Voices in the wind and faces from the past go dancing by
They’re asking why

Sarah and Josh:
Will you be there for me, everytime I go away
Will you be there for me, thinking of me everyday
Are you my destiny, words I never dared to say
Will you be there for me?

Sarah:
And while you’re close to me, so close to me
Just hold me

Josh:
Can you really want me more than for a little while?
What are the stories hiding there behind your smile?
Wishes in a dream and figures in a world that I could share
And everywhere

Sarah and Josh:
Will you be there for me
Will there ever come a day when all the world can see
Things were meant to be that way
Will you be there for me?
Can you hear the people say
That you’re just
There for me

Josh:
There for me

Sarah:
There for me

Earthquake hit Indonesia

September 12th, 2007 by arimas

taken from http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/6991134.stm

A powerful earthquake has struck off the western Indonesian island of Sumatra, sparking fears of a tsunami. Alerts were issued for many Indian Ocean nations after the 7.9 quake, though Indonesia’s has now been lifted. There are reports of buildings collapsing in towns on the west coast of the island of Sumatra, but it is not yet clear whether there are casualties. A massive undersea earthquake sparked a tsunami that killed more than 130,000 people in Indonesia in December 2004. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre issued an alert for the entire Indian Ocean region following the latest quake. Besides Indonesia, India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and a number of small islands were put on alert.

There were unconfirmed reports of a small tsunami - estimated at 1-3m (3-10ft) hitting the Sumatran coast - but not causing major damage. However, about two hours after the quake, Indonesia’s meteorology agency said the danger of a serious tsunami had passed. Warnings remained in place in other countries. Wednesday’s earthquake struck at 1810 (1110 GMT), about 15km (nine miles) under the sea, some 100km (60 miles) south-west of the city of Bengkulu, the US Geological Survey said.

Local media said buildings in Padang, the capital of the province of West Sumatra, and in the town of Mukomuko, had collapsed. "I saw some parts of houses crumbled to the ground but not huge damage. People ran out of their homes," Ayu Claudia, a resident of Bengkulu, told the AFP news agency before the phone went dead. Officials said it was very difficult to get clear communications with the area to make damage assessments. They are sending disaster teams from the capital Jakarta, fearing that there may be significant casualties, says the BBC’s Lucy Williamson in Jakarta.

There were also reports of inhabitants fleeing swaying buildings in the capital Jakarta and in Singapore. Fearful memories Our correspondent says this was the most powerful earthquake in Indonesia since the one which caused the Asian tsunami in 2004, and was dangerously shallow.

The 2004 quake measured 8.9 and struck under the sea near the northern Sumatran province of Aceh, triggering a tsunami that killed more than 220,000 people around the rim of the Indian Ocean. She says quakes on this scale are rare and memories of 2004 have made the country terrified of a repeat. Indonesia, part of the seismically active Pacific "Ring of Fire", is frequently shaken by earth tremors.

I met an angel

September 10th, 2007 by arimas

Yesterday I met an angel. Exactly on my way home from church. Me and two of my friends got lost, don’t know why. It was so strange coz we have been to that church for several times. After getting lost for almost one hour, we finally decided to stop the car. We stopped in front of a house and me & my friend went out to ask for directions. Fortunately, there was a man cutting grass so seriously.
I said ‘Excuse me, sorry to disturb you. Would you kindly help us because we got lost somehow and would like to go back to the city". There were some dogs belong to their neighbour barked at us, but I just smile to those dogs who tried to look at us from the fence. That man was so patient in giving the directions. Perhaps he saw my face which showed how confusing those maps are…hehehe. Then he suddently said "Don’t worry, I’ll lead you to go there until UC. Just follow me :)".
Wow…what a generous person. I have no words to say. I’ve never met such a generous and kind person before. I mean, we are totally strangers and it was really hot at that time. But, he was willing to lead us.
Then, we went to our car while he took his car from his garage. But, I don’t know why that our car began to stuck. The engine could not be turned on. My friend tried several times to start up, but always failed. So, I tried it once and whispered in my heart "Please God, that man is waiting for us and he is already so kind. Please have mercy on us". Then suddently, the engine is on. Wow…another miracle I thought. After that, we followed the man. It is really a blessings that we could follow him remembering that was the first time for my friend to drive his car. I mean, following other car is not as simple as it looks.
Well, we finally saw the Telstra Tower, meaning that we were already on the right track. So, he stopped his car, so were we.
He went out from his car, followed by me and one of my friends. He kept showing me the directions and map. He even offered me to bring his map. Wow…too generous. I said that we have one already, thanks. He kept reminded me about the directions "turn right on the next red light, then go straight until you find another red light where there is only two choices, that you cannot go straight anymore. Then, you turn left, you’ll see Barry Drive".
I said "Oh yeah…I know Barry Drive. Well…ok, I remember that. Thank you, Sir. Xie xie :). I really appreciate it."
He said, "No worries. Did you just come back from church?"
I said "Yes, we did. Thank you. May God bless you :). Please take care".
Then we separate, we went to Civic and he went back home.

Wow…I still cannot imagine how wonderful God is. Imagine if we stopped at the wrong place…perhaps we are still looking for directions ;)
Sometimes I think,is it because last two days (the day before) I saved a bird which I found on my way home from Civic? I found the bird dying and brought him to the nearest clinic for animals. Fortunately he still can be saved. Well…I think if you do goodness for others, no matter animals, plants or human beings, many good things will follow you…
Well..for sure…I am so lucky that I’ve met an angel ^_^.

read and think about it :)

September 9th, 2007 by arimas

From my friend…try to read it…really good.

1.I love you not because who you are, but because who I am when I’m with you.
2.No man or woman is worth your tears, and the one who is, won’t make you cry
3.Just because someone doesn’t love you the way you want them to, doesn’t mean they don’t love you with all they have.
4.A true friend is someone who reaches for your hand and touches your heart.
5.The worst way to miss someone is to be sitting right beside them knowing you can’t have them.
6.Never frown, even when you are sad, because you never know who is falling in love with your smile.
7.To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.
8.Don’t waste your time on a man/woman, who isn’t willing to waste their time on you.
9.Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one, so that when we finally meet the person, we will know how to be grateful.
10.Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it has happened.
11.There’s always going to be people that hurt you so what you have to do is keep on trusting and be more careful about who you trust next time around.
12.Make yourself a better person and know who you are before you try to know someone else and expect them to know you.
13.Don’t try so hard, the best things come when you least expect them to.

REMEMBER: WHATEVER HAPPENS, IT HAPPENS FOR A REASON.

True friends: How many people actually have 8 true friends?
Hardly anyone I know! But some of us have all right and good friends!!!

The Rain by Roxette (taken from sing365.com)

August 27th, 2007 by arimas

I was raised the northern way
And my father had a northern name
I did my crying out in the pouring rain
And a season turned into another one
I found a heart bright like the morning sun
He touched my lips (so softly) with his fingertips

But I’ve kept the rain falling down on me
all the time… all the time
I’ve kept the rain falling down on me
all the time… all the time

And some things in life won’t ever change
There’s a smell of a rusty chain
and of love disappearing like an aeroplane

I’ve kept the rain falling down on me
all the time… all the time
I’ve kept the rain falling down on me
all the time… all the time
all the time…
